About Us and Nature
Outdoor Therapeutics transforms mental health care by reconnecting individuals with nature through innovative clinical and wellness programs. Our approach blends evidence-based therapies with the proven benefits of the natural world—such as green space exposure to calm the nervous system and promote overall well-being. We offer unique, nature-integrated services like trauma-focused outdoor therapy and wilderness-based wellness programs, designed to support healing at the intersection of mind, body, spirit, and environment. Clients engage with nature in ways that suit their comfort level—whether it's caring for plants during office sessions, taking reflective “walk and talk” therapy along the river, or participating in extended outdoor sessions where wildlife and landscapes serve as powerful metaphors for growth, resilience, and connection.

Trauma-Informed & Responsive Practice
Outdoor Therapeutics is rooted in the values of trauma-informed and trauma-responsive practice. This means we are committed to a process of learning and applying knowledge of trauma to our thinking, behaviors, services, and workplace culture in order to increase capacity for safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment in our relationship to others and ourselves. As part of this commitment, we seek ongoing guidance from outside professionals and resources, such as the Trauma Responsive Frederick (TRF), trauma-informed clinical supervisors, and anti-oppression frameworks to help us with organization-wide accountability and our continued journey to know better and do better.
