Supervision Approach

Kris uses a Trauma-Informed Holistic style of supervision that parallels her approach to client care. Trauma-Informed Clinical Supervision is based on Knight and Borders (2021) framework grounded in knowledge of direct and vicarious trauma on professionals and clients and core skills and precepts of trauma-informed practice and care. Trauma-informed Supervision is founded on the five principles of safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment. Kris integrates these elements with a Holistic approach which emphasizes that every aspect of the counseling and supervision process is occurring at all levels for an individual, including emotionally, cognitively, spiritually, physically, and on intra- and interpersonal levels (i.e., the professional is the personal). Trauma-Informed Holistic Supervision, therefore, seeks to support and care for supervisees in all areas of their experience as they develop into unique people and healing professionals in trauma treatment settings.
