6-Week Nature-Based Game Group for Social Inclusion
Workshop Overview
Outdoor Therapeutics is offering a short-term, clinician-led group designed for neurodivergent community members who want a supportive, low-pressure space to connect with others, build confidence in social situations, and feel a sense of belonging. We use cooperative and structured nature-themed board games as a fun, accessible way to practice communication, turn-taking, collaboration, and relationship-building—without forced socializing. Each session offers at least two game options, with clinicians available to guide play, support regulation, and adapt to different comfort levels. Participants are welcome to engage at their own pace. Groups will be offered for two age ranges: one for younger participants (ages 8-16) and one for older teens and adults (ages 17+). Play-based and therapeutic approaches are woven throughout to support learning, connection, and enjoyment.

Program Schedule and Locations
Meets for six weeks on Sundays from 2:00-4:00pm EST (Feb 22 - Mar 29, 2026)
Adult and youth game rooms will be held at 1705 and 1707 Rosemont Avenue, Frederick, MD 21702
Your Co-Facilitators
Rose Miller, LMSW is a therapist with over five years of experience working with individuals and groups using play-based, experiential, and relational approaches to therapy. They have a special interest in using board games to foster relationships and social skills. They are excited to offer a community space for others to learn a new game, some skills, and hopefully make some friends. You can read more about Rose

Krista Bajgier, LICSW, LCSW-C has been a passionate board game enthusiast for over four decades and she never passes up an opportunity to play. During these game nights, she'll thoughtfully blend therapeutic reflection, her love of nature, and a deep commitment to build meaningful relationships through shared play. Workshop Costs
If you are not currently a client of Outdoor Therapeutics, participation in this social support group is $200 for all 6 weeks of game play. Existing clients may use their insurance to cover group costs and are subject to their standard deductible and copayments. Sliding scale available upon request based on client financial need.
