Overview
Somatic Experiencing Support Group Overview
This is a short-term, confidential support group for persons struggling to understand and respond to psychosomatic expressions of stress and emotional dysregulation. We focus on increasing knowledge of our bodies and the use of group work to heal and support our parasympathetic nervous system (calming network) through co-regulation, inter-connectivity, and relational healing. These interventions are primarily based on the therapeutic framework of Somatic Experiencing developed by Peter Levine.
What is Somatic Experiencing?
Somatic Experiencing (SE™) is a body-oriented therapeutic model developed by Dr. Peter Levine that draws from multidisciplinary areas of physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics.
