Larissa holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hood College, Frederick, Maryland. While at Hood College, she concurrently completed a Thanatology certification program and was awarded The Dr. Dana G. Cable Outstanding Thanatology Student Award for her excellence in the field of death studies. Larissa also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Shenandoah University, as she transitioned to counseling from a previous career as a Registered Nurse. Larissa is deeply rooted in a person-centered approach, and considers the combination of practical interventions grounded by a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship to be the foundation of her work. Larissa enjoys helping clients and couples build resiliency, emotional connections, and tangible skills to achieve their goals and help facilitate healing. Outside of work, Larissa is passionate about animal advocacy, doing yoga poorly but enthusiastically, and going on long walks with her three senior rescue dogs.
