Campfire Council Overview

Storytelling is a human universal. From gathering around the campfire telling tales of ancestors to watching the latest Netflix series, humans are prolific producers and consumers of stories. Despite our natural inclinations, much of modern society has incentivized us away from our connection with each other and the land. We have grown socially anxious and learned to fear the outdoors. To remedy this, Outdoor Therapeutics hosts periodic Campfire Councils designed to reintroduce meaningful, in-person connections in the woods. Escape the digital world, take comfort and warmth by a crackling fire and join nature lovers, nature seekers, and nature professionals that you may not know, but may come to befriend.

What to Expect:

• Lightly-facilitated campfire chat and storytelling time

• An alcohol-free space with light refreshments.

• Space to bring and cook your own food over the grills and campfire

• The presence of Outdoor Therapeutics staff to discuss community collaboration

• Space to share including but not limited to personal anecdotes, poetry, music, words of wisdom, and humor

• Limited space. Events are capped at 15 people (including children and adults

• We love your pets, but we ask that you leave them at home
